San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York arrested; prostitution charge later amended

 

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WOIO/Gray New) — San Francisco 49ers owner John “Jed” York was arrested in Ohio over the weekend.

According to court records, York was found guilty of two misdemeanor charges, including possessing criminal tools and disorderly conduct.

Records show he was originally charged with engaging in prostitution, but it was amended to the disorderly conduct charge.

He was arrested Sunday in East Palestine and posted a $5,000 bond. He pleaded no contest to the charges Monday.

York was sentenced to two days in the Columbiana County Jail and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.

An expungement request has also been filed, according to the court docket.

The 49ers sent the following statement to WOIO:

“As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time.”

The East Palestine Police Department assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force in the arrest.

York is the majority owner of the 49ers and became CEO in 2008. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduated from the local high school, according to KRON.

He lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two sons, according to his online bio.
